Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter (1872-1944) renowned for his geometric abstract paintings, which invariably employed straight lines and rectangular fields of whites, grays, and primary colors. This painting is almost a Golden Rectangle, but not quite. In this cutting board, the small blue square at the bottom right is rendered in Purpleheart, a wood that is not really blue, but at least has some blue in it."
